New animal kingdom is in

Here's the new version of Zoe's Animal Kingdom... it's really fun to work on this one... learned a lot too.

Interesting thing is kids tend to like animations with mysterious contents, I guess it fits into their imaginations. Like the Rat I and II, Melissa, Francois, and Zoe are asking more questions about the Rat, like what is gonna happen to the Rat, what is inside the magic castle, things like that... yeah, pressure is on... I think the Rat III will have to be deeper into the story telling to feed the hungry minds of children's mystic imaginations.

New Animal Kingdom

I'm creating a new version of Zoe's Animal Kingdom, which is much more sophisticated and a bit longer too... here's a preview photo... so, stay tuned...

Le Rat Voyageur II

It took me quite some time figuring out on synchronizing the audio with the time line... the default on the audio was set on "Event," and the animation couldn't match up with the audio... it was quite frustrating.

If it were just music background, then it wouldn't matter, but since the sound effects and conversations are involved, it becomes a major issue. After doing some trouble shootings and readings, I set the audio in "Streaming" instead... Voila, problem solved, it's that simple.

It's just about two minutes, not long... enjoy!

door painting

Meanwhile, here's my first painting, the biggest ever, on a door in my living room...

Oh, I forgot to mention Francois's drawing of a dog... yeah, a dog that walks like human, how interesting, isn't it?

Here's his drawing of a dog.

Well, well, well, my last post was a few weeks ago... too busy lately... actually too busy on working on the second chapter of The Rat Voyageur... the animation has been done quite some time, but I was too lay back to work on the audio. Anyway, once I have a chance, I'll get it posted.

Here's a thumbnail of Melissa's drawing in Chapter 2....

turn childrens' drawings into animations

Well, my co-worker's 3 1/2-year old daughter whose name is Zoe drew a few animals with me together and she asked me if I could turn the drawings into cartoon like the one I made previously. I said I'll try.

But on my way back home, I thought about this seriously. If kids like to draw and if they see their drawings that can run wild and flip and disappear and come back to life in the cartoon, wouldn't that make their childhood fantasies go wild? I think they'd be incredibly proud of themselves and keep doing more drawings.

Kid's minds are amazing, and their drawings, personally I think carry the best imaginations that adults have lost long ago, so no matter how simple or sophisticated their drawings are, they can be turned into something even better, I think the attached movie proves it, unless you disagree.

Well, here it's, a 45-second movie to illustrate my point, and how I turn her drawings, or I should say our drawings, into an animation. Although it's short, it has taken me 4 hours or so to finish, anyway... Enjoy!
